From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
